Is an 80Ah Amaron really enough for Dubai summer or should I go bigger? (5 อ่าน)

I have been reading a lot of threads about car batteries in the UAE and I still cannot decide what to do so I figured I would just ask directly. My current battery is a no name brand that came with the car when I bought it used about two years ago. It has been okay for most of the time but this summer has been brutal and I have noticed it struggles a lot more in the afternoon heat. Last week I left the car parked outside for about six hours while I was at a meeting near the World Trade Center and when I came back the AC fans came on but the engine turned over so slowly that I actually thought it was dead. It started eventually but that feeling of sitting there not knowing if you are going to be stranded is horrible. So now I am looking at replacing it properly and I keep seeing Amaron mentioned everywhere. A lot of people say the 80Ah is the standard choice for most sedans and small SUVs but my friend insists I should go for a bigger capacity because of how hot it gets here. He says heat kills batteries faster than anything and a bigger one will handle the load better. That makes sense in theory but I am not sure if it is actually true or if he is just guessing. I also do not want to spend extra money on something I do not need. My car is a Toyota Camry by the way, nothing fancy, just a daily driver. I do use the AC constantly and I sometimes sit in the car with the engine off for a few minutes answering calls so maybe that is putting extra strain on it. Does anyone here have real experience with a genuine Amaron 80Ah battery installation near World Trade Center or anywhere else in Dubai? I want to know if it lasted you a good amount of time or if it also struggled in the summer. Also how do you know when a battery is genuinely finished versus just needing a good long drive to recharge? I took it to a petrol station and the guy tested it with a small device and said it was fine but I do not fully trust that reading because it was done in like ten seconds. Should I get a proper load test done somewhere? And if I do replace it should I also get the alternator checked at the same time or is that overkill? Sorry for so many questions, I just do not want to keep dealing with this every few months. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks.
