Does film really stop sand and gravel damage on a Musaffah commute? (9 views)

My daily drive is from my flat to a warehouse in Musaffah, about thirty minutes each way, and most of that road is full of trucks throwing up gravel. My white Honda Accord is only a year old, and the front already has more chips than my last car had in three years. A colleague said I should get film put on, but I could not tell how a thin clear layer would stop a stone flying at highway speed. So I looked around for Trusted answers on how PPF protects car paint in Musaffah , and what I understood is that the film is soft and flexible, so it takes the hit and spreads the force instead of letting it dent and crack the paint. That made sense, but I still have questions for people who live with it. Does it really stop bigger stones, or only small sand and light scratches? I heard the film can look a bit wavy or hazy if the car sits in strong sun right after fitting. Is that normal, and how long does it take to settle? Also, how does it handle the heat on a car that is parked outside all day? Does it fade or turn yellow after two summers? Another thing I wonder about is the edges. Do they collect dirt or start lifting, especially near the headlights and bumper? And how do you wash it, because the car wash near my work uses big brushes. Is it okay for the film, or should I stay away? I am also thinking about cost. Is it smarter to cover only the bonnet, bumper, mirrors and door edges, or go for the whole car? If you drive on roads like mine, please tell me what you paid, how it looks now, and what you would do differently.
